So far, we have harvested 7 squirrels in Virginia this season. When you're working pups a lot, you can go a while between shots!
Total for the season (all states) as of 11/7 is 13. Wow, that's lucky!!!

We ended up with A LOT more by the end of the season than that 13!
Got to be honest, I lost count...What I can remember is:
4 or 5 during the June season in VA 6 in Missouri 6 in North Carolina 10 with Hobo and Bubba 1 with Hobo 1 with Byron on the farm 2 with Ranger on the farm A BUNCH OF OTHERS to Daisy, Colter and Rosie on the farm...others from Ranger too. 5 or so with Dad at a WMA Got several at another WMA near our farm on multiple trips 2 with Brad and Bryce in Dinwiddie
All said and done, we killed less than normal but gave all the dogs and pups quality time in the timber and saw MANY more than we killed. I would say we knocked out about 100. When I was in school, I harvested about 300 a year. When you are training young dogs that is hard to do. Good dogs and good experiences is what it's all about.

[glow=red,2,300]I still have 2 weeks left in the season and I've shot 154 squirrels, 11 Raccoons, and 15 cottontail Rabbits this year. Keep in mind, I'm in the woods at least 3 or 4 full days every week. I think I would have shot more if it had not been for training pups, too. I've never harvested half as many squirrels in one season as I have this year. My best season so far....... Makes me feel quite cool, if I do say do myself.[/glow]
