I have been doin' some yard work with Rosie and Colter. If you have trained bird dogs, it is similar to working them on a wing. Usually, I use weedeater cord to tie around the squirrel but I am out...Been weedeating! You can use a squirrel tail to tease the pup and improve interest. The point is to get the pups to understand what you want them to smell for and chase when you take them to the timber. This isn't something I do all the time, just to get a pup excited. As you can see from the pictures, they really like it! Attachments:

A fishing pole is great if you are just using a squirrel tail. ;D Attachments:

Rosie and Colter are impressive young dogs now! Can't wait to watch them progress over the course of the squirrel season!!!!

Rosie got a first tree on my ol' veteran squirrel dog Daisy this weekend! I'm sure Colter won't be too far behind by the way he acts.
