UKC's First Feist Day Squirrel hunt & Bench Show South Eastern Ky Cur and Feist will be hosting a UKC Feist Only hunt on Oct 24th. 2015 for all UKC registered Treeing Feist and UKC registered Mountian Feist. Deadline for the dog entries are 7:30 AM, all casts winners with plus points must return to the PM hunt . There will be a UKC Bench Show and the deadline for dog entries will be 12:30 PM. The entry fee for the hunt is $20.00 and $10.00 for Bench Show. Cost of registering your dog is $20.00. Come participate in both or just one of the events. We know a lot of people that enjoy showing their dogs and not hunting due to health problems or other reasons. However, this is the day to bring your feist out and join us. There are many good squirrel dogs out there and not all of them are feist. When you have a squirrel dog you like and it hunts, never be discouraged by anyone because it is not their breed of choice. Having this UKC Feist only hunt is giving recognition to the feist and bringing them together, as well as their owners, for a special squirrel hunt day. The feist dog is a small, fast moving dog and are very alert to the surroundings, hunting style may be different than other breeds. What a great day we can make of this hunt. Anyone that comes from near or far will be in comfortable surroundings at all times. If you travel far, there are several motels only 5 mile from the club house and the club house is only 5 mile from interstate I-75. We have a large parking area, with rest rooms, heating and cooling inside the club house which is large enough to seat several people. We have a picnic area under roof and play ground for the children. Make a family day of it. There are numerous restaurants all within 5 mile of club house. Comfort will be present at all times while at this hunt. Remember all of this is surrounded by hundreds of acres of government hunting land and the well known Laurel Lake a tourist attraction. If we get enough attendence this will be a annual event. For the support of the Feist breed we are asking you to make every attempt possible in bringing your feist dogs and joining us on this day. So mark those calenders and lets all get together with our Feist dogs and have a great hunt. Let's support the Feist on this day as the Feist supports us in the woods. There will be other postings as the hunt draws nearer. You do not have to be a Feist owner to join us on this day. You must have a UKC registered feist to participate in the hunt or bench show but you can come and visit with us and enjoy the day with fellow hunters.

This is a day for the Mountian Feist to be registered (if you have not already done so) and hunt with feist only. This is for the love of the breed that so many of us, love, own, spend a lot of time with hunting, and adopted as a family member. This is a event you don't want to miss because you want to bring your feist and get it registered UKC Mountian Feist so it can be a part of the History of the UKC Mountian Feist Registry!

Wish you could too, Phil! I'd like to see a good representation of Gray bred dogs there. I'm spreading the word best I can.
