Mark you asked about feist being line breed the other day. It may be a few years down the road but here is some of what I got planned. The first females pedigree posted will be bred back to her uncle which is same pedigree of second posted. Then a female from that will be bred back to her grandpa cracker the third pedigree posted. That's pretty well linebreeding I do believe. Hope you can read these. Let.me know what ya think about it.

The key with any of this is keeping 1/2 an eye on a potential outcross to compliment the line without throwing too many cards back in the deck. Objectively evaluating pups and culling hard will be critical. Uncle x Niece and breeding back to a grandparent that reproduces well ups the odds of success.
Keep me posted as you make the breedings. I may want to get a male to breed to our females once I get the next generation set up in a couple years. My plan is to stock up on good females linebred to Daisy - offspring of Rose and Polly with Buckshot.

Breeding this way, you'll be able to quickly expose and eliminate any faults.

I'd be interested to see what's back in the 4th-5th generations but it seems like there is sufficient genetic diversity to do this with the largest contributor of common ancestry being Cadillac Jack (and his ancestors).

Got my out cross for the female from the cracker to his grandaughter breeding. Still has some common ancestors but they are a little further back. Should be set up for a while.

Nice. Now, all that's left is hunting the hair off all of them!

Yep I'm gonna have my hands full. Luckily that's all stretched out over a couple of years. If the females don't make tree dogs they won't be breed and none of this will even happen. I'm gonna give them the opportunity and evaluate each one hard. If they don't make the cut they will have to be culled from my breeding program.

I know it's hard but it's the best way to go for the good of the breed.
