[glow=red,2,300]I may go to the South east KY cur & feist club hunt on march 3rd just to test the waters, not entering any dogs. I need to check out a few hunts and learn what I can before I toss any of mine in. I know there will be alot of people I can learn from there, too. I just wish there was more hunts in NC, I don't think there was even one........[/glow]

I hear ya. Same way here in VA. Part of the reason we need more people hunting this line of dogs in VA and NC...So we can all get together for competition hunts.

[glow=red,2,300]kinda makes me want to figure out how to go about putting a Feist/Cur club together myself. Any of my dogs earning a title would be pure awesome but it would feel even better if I didn't have to drive 2 or 3 states over for them to do it, haha. Gas just aint what it use to be........[/glow]

I hear ya! The limiting factor for starting a club in a lot of areas is having enough places to take casts and members dedicated to running it. I would love to have an NKC club close.

[glow=red,2,300]Have you ever noticed that most of the top titled dogs come from states that have high number of competition hunts?[/glow]

Oh yes. I have. Many of them do not leave their home turf either.

I competition hunted Jody in multiple states to get her SQCH title. That was when gas was relatively cheap. Hardly anyone was doing it then. I don't see many doing it now.

Might be worth calling NKC to see about starting one if you think you have enough land to take 30 dogs out in 2 or 3 dog casts. It depends on if the Game Lands are open to "field trialing" or not. Here our state land is NOT for the most part. Need to be able to have each cast hunt two hours and not run into one another.

[glow=red,2,300]I need to read into that and call NKC. Right up the road from where we shot that massive fox squirrel on Sandhills GL is huge feild trial grounds but I'm not exactly sure how they run them but I will find out pretty soon.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Just got off the phone with Earl Reynolds about the upcoming hunt, dogs, and how to set up a club. It seems like a ton of work but I'm going to do alot of research and see what I can do/come up with![/glow]

Hope you learn a lot and kick butt if you decide to enter anything! Watch out for "handler error" Wish I could go with you!
