Didn't get an elk but my buddy did. I got bucked off my horse and had to cut the hunt short.

Still a little stiff and sore but recovering. We were riding in on the second day of the hunt before daylight and something spooked my horse. She started bucking and pitched me off over her head. I landed flat on my back downhill from the horse. I was wearing a backpack, and landed on that. Fortunately there was nothing hard and bulky in the backpack and I didn't land on any rocks. I'm way too old for that kind of abuse.

Glad you are okay! Sounds like a rough fall...How is Tex doin? Hope you get to take him out some if you haven't been.
