Yes it has been, I love to hunt them and love to shoot some but i'm not much on eating them. I give all of mine away.

I know of a lot of folks that give theirs away. I don't know many people around me that will take them so I only shoot what we can use.

When i was a kid grandma use to fix them and and i would eat them, But i would always find shot in them. I guess since she didn't eat them she din't know to look for it? I think thats why i don't eat them now. My father in law eats all i can take to him.

I do now, Well most of the time one of us carrys a 22 and one of a shotgun.

Yep, One of the guys we hunt with all they have on there farm is huge fox squirrels. They love coming to hunt around our house all we have are greys.

Sure your welcome to come up and hunt with us and kill a few, This place is right off the base of the Massanutten. These are the orangish red fox squirrels. #6 shot wouldn't harly kill them. Nice easy walking also!

Nice easy walking also! Cool! Thanks. The fox squirrels I hunt mostly are the midwestern subspecies. I want to go to NC and get the southeastern and get some of the mountain subspecies here in VA. "Fox Squirrel Grand Slam" of sorts.
