Took Sally Mae and cracker out yesterday morning and they were treed within 5 minutes on a big oak still full of leaves. I couldn't find the squirrel so I called them off the tree. They started of again and that was the last time is saw as Sally. Cracker was back within 30 minutes. I spent the next 9 hours walking and calling for Sally I also drive around and around the property I was hunting and gave my name and number to at least 50 different people. I left my jacket laying in the woods and went back looking again this morning. Took cracker with me in hoes that if he treed Sally would come to him but had no luck. Got a key to the gate on the land I was hunting and drive all over the property and no sign of her.
I know it's easy to point out the things I did wrong like no tracking collar. Thing is Sally never ranged far and checked in often. When I hadn't seen her in 10 minutes I knew something was wrong. I have spent countless hours with her since Jerry brought her to me and I had gotten very attached to her. Actually sat in the woods and cried praying I would find her. I am very upset about not being able to find her. My girls both have her picture on Facebook asking people to call if they see her. I pay I can get her back
Sally was going to be the future of my squirrel dogs and I miss her greatly. Only had her for a fee months but she was quickly becoming my favorite dog. If by done chance I don't get her back I am going to get out of squirrel dogs. I quit rabbit hunting due to a coyote killing my best beagle and if for some reason I don't get Sally back I'm done with dogs altogether. I just can't take the heartbreak of losing it taking the chance in losing another dog
