Well I decided to take cracker and smokey this morning and everywhere I went there was a truck parked for bow season. I figured being a work day wouldn't be many people in the woods. Finally found a decent looking spot and within minutes cracker was treed. I circled that tree at least 10 times and was ready to leave when I finally saw the squirrel. I shot it in the butt because that was all I could see. It came rolling put and hit the ground running. Smokey nearly caught it before it made it in a hollow tree. Made two more trees saw one timber and the other I couldn't find. Finally made another tree in a tree with no leaves at all in it. Shot that squirrel and it hit the ground running again. I had tied cracker to let smokey get hold of it. It was a big fox squirrel and smokey was shaking it for all he had. The sucker must have bit him cause he squall ed and turned loose and then was back after it. I swear if it didn't make it into a huge dead tree with holes all in it. Smokey hunted pretty good this morning. He checks just about every tree I. The woods and you can sure tell when he smells something. Attached a pic of the two den trees the squirrels made it to with cracker and smokey treeing on them. I tried every way I could think of to get them squirrels out of them trees

Yeah, I do the best I can to avoid where other folks are hunting - even if they don't return the courtesy. It's public land though. I usually hunt midday during deer season (when we can squirrel hunt too).
Stinks about the cripples making it to holes!
